PREVENTIVE:-
Cleaning(Oral Prophylaxis)
- performed on patients who make regular dental
visits and who do not build up much calculus (tartar) and stain. The cleaning
appointment should be an easy visit. If a patient has had a long treatment
gap between dental visits, or if they tend to build up large amounts of
calculus or stain, or if their home care is lax, a "cleaning" may not
be appropriate. Conservative periodontal therapy may be the treatment
of choice.
Cleaning is an important
professional oral hygiene maintenance procedure that benefits gum and
supporting bone for a long-term sound condition of teeth and restorations.
Sealants - highly effective
on the biting surfaces of chewing teeth; a simple procedure in which a
tooth-colored acrylic coating is painted onto the surface of the tooth;
this efficiently seals the deep grooves where decay is most likely to
start.
Fluoride Application -helps
strengthen and protect teeth from decay
